Ro Sparks review

Does Ro Sparks actually work?

By the Everything Men's Health editorial teamUpdated October 20267 min read

Verdict

For many men, yes. Ro Sparks pairs sildenafil and tadalafil, two PDE5 inhibitors that are FDA-approved on their own for ED, in a compounded sublingual lozenge. Effects can begin around 15 minutes after it dissolves and can last up to 36 hours.

The limits are in the dose and the formula. It comes in one fixed strength, its 22mg of tadalafil sits above the FDA's 20mg maximum for ED, and it works on blood flow only, with nothing that acts on arousal.

Ro, answered

What is Ro Sparks, and how is it different from Ro's generics?

Ro (formerly Roman) is a U.S. telehealth platform available in all 50 states. After a free online consultation, a licensed provider reviews your answers and, if appropriate, prescribes medication that ships to your home.

Ro's standard ED options are generic sildenafil from $4/dose and generic tadalafil from $8/dose, plus brand-name Viagra from $90/dose and Cialis from $20/dose. Each is a single ingredient in an oral tablet, taken roughly 30 to 60 minutes before sex.

Ro Sparks combines both ingredients in one lozenge: sildenafil 55mg and tadalafil 22mg, placed under the tongue. Ro also offers Daily Rise Gummies, a compounded 7mg daily tadalafil chew, and for premature ejaculation, Roman Swipes and prescription sertraline. Few platforms put this many formats in one place, and that range is Ro's clearest strength.

How fast does it work, and how long does it last?

The lozenge takes about 10 minutes to dissolve. Ro advises taking it 15 to 30 minutes before sex, and effects can begin around 15 minutes after it dissolves. The tadalafil keeps working for up to 36 hours. Avoid eating or drinking until it has fully dissolved.

What does Ro Sparks cost?

As of June 2026, Sparks starts at $48/mo for the 4x dose plan, then $72/mo for 6 doses, $96/mo for 8 and $120/mo for 10. Quarterly plans take $15 off every three months. Ro lays these plans out clearly by quantity, which makes it easy to know what you will pay. Daily Rise Gummies start at $69/mo on a 3-month supply (90 doses) or $89/mo month to month. Ro does not accept insurance for most products.

Is Ro Sparks FDA-approved?

No. Ro's generic sildenafil and tadalafil and brand-name Viagra and Cialis are FDA-approved. Ro Sparks and Daily Rise Gummies are compounded and are not FDA-approved as finished drug products, although each uses individually FDA-approved active ingredients. Rugiet Ready is also compounded and not FDA-approved.

What are the side effects?

Common PDE5 inhibitor side effects include headache, flushing, nasal congestion, upset stomach, dizziness, muscle or back pain and temporary vision changes. Rare but serious effects include sudden hearing or vision loss and severely low blood pressure. An erection lasting more than four hours needs immediate medical care.

Never combine these medications with nitrates, other ED drugs or certain blood pressure medications. Because Sparks comes in a single dose that is on the higher end, it may raise the chance of side effects, and it is not an ideal starting point for men new to ED medication.

Want a sublingual combination you can start at a lower dose? Rugiet Ready comes in four strength tiers.

The Rugiet case

A 3-in-1 formula, not 2-in-1

Rugiet Ready is a 3-in-1 sublingual formula designed to support both arousal and blood flow.

  • Sildenafil, which helps support blood flow
  • Tadalafil, which can keep working for up to 36 hours
  • Apomorphine, a dopamine agonist that supports arousal signalling in the brain

Ro Sparks focuses on blood flow alone. Arousal is neurological as well as physical, and blood flow support may not be enough when the arousal signal is the weaker link, for example with performance anxiety.

Dosing you can adjust

Ready™ is physician-customized across four strength tiers, so a provider can start lower and adjust based on your response, side effects and medical history. Sparks has one fixed strength with no tiers.

Onset, duration and side effects

Onset is commonly reported around 15 minutes, with effects that can last up to 36 hours, so on timing the two are level. Apomorphine can cause mild nausea in some users, usually manageable with a dose change, and it should not be taken with certain anti-nausea drugs such as ondansetron. Individual results vary.

Rugiet Ready's arousal-enhancing 5-in-1 benefits, prescribed after an online consultation.

Check if Rugiet Ready is right for you

Who should choose which

Ro Sparks may suit you if your ED is mainly about blood flow, you have used PDE5 inhibitors before and do well at higher doses, you want clear plan pricing, or you would like generics, gummies and PE options under one account.

Rugiet Ready may suit you if you are new to ED medication and want to start at a lower dose, have not fully responded to single-ingredient pills, deal with performance anxiety or inconsistent arousal, or want a dose your provider can adjust.
