What is in BlueChew Gold?

BlueChew Gold combines four ingredients in one compounded sublingual tablet: sildenafil, tadalafil, apomorphine and oxytocin. Sildenafil and tadalafil are PDE5 inhibitors that support blood flow, and apomorphine is a dopamine agonist that acts on the arousal signal in the brain rather than on blood flow. Both products include it.

Pricing starts from about $7.30 per use on a quarterly plan at the Base strength. The tablet is dissolved under the tongue roughly 15 minutes before sex. Oxytocin has no established role in treating erectile dysfunction. It does not improve blood flow, it is not included in ED clinical guidelines, and there is no clear mechanism by which it adds to what sildenafil, tadalafil and apomorphine already do. Of Gold's four ingredients, oxytocin has the least clinical support for ED.

There is a second issue beneath the evidence question. A published pharmacokinetic study in male volunteers measured sublingual oxytocin bioavailability between 0.007% and 0.07% — a 10-fold variation from one person to the next — and concluded the sublingual route "would not seem a reliable route" for accurate dosing.

What are the side effects?

The common side effects match those of the ingredients it contains: headache, flushing, nasal congestion, dizziness, indigestion, muscle or back pain and temporary vision changes. Most are mild and fade as the dose wears off.

Rare but serious effects include sudden hearing or vision loss and severely low blood pressure. An erection lasting more than four hours (priapism) needs immediate medical treatment. BlueChew Gold should never be combined with nitrates, other ED drugs or certain blood pressure medications, which is one reason a licensed provider reviews your history before prescribing.

Reviewers consistently report that the sublingual tablet leaves a temporary blue tint on the tongue, typically fading within about an hour. It is a cosmetic effect rather than a safety concern, but it is the most common complaint in BlueChew reviews, alongside the taste.

No. BlueChew Gold is a compounded product, prepared by a pharmacy for an individual prescription, and it is not FDA-approved as a finished drug product. That means the combination tablet itself has not gone through FDA review for safety, effectiveness or manufacturing.

The individual actives used across BlueChew's range (sildenafil, tadalafil and vardenafil) are each FDA-approved when prescribed as standard tablets. Rugiet Ready is also compounded and also not FDA approved, so FDA status is not a point of difference between the two.
